Daesh hideout dismantled in Kabul, say Taliban

AT News

KABUL: Taliban say an ISIS hideout was obliterated in an operation on Thursday evening in Murad Bik village of Kabul’s Shakar Dara district, where two Daesh terrorists were killed and gunfire was exchanged for several hours.

Fighting between the Taliban forces and the Daesh fighters lasted for five hours. Several people including women and children were taken into custody by the security forces.

Daesh fighters had been planning many of their terrorist plans in that hideout. Some other members were arrested and their sanctuary was eliminated, said Inamullah Samangani, Taliban’s deputy spokesman.

People in Shakar Dara district called on all compatriots to never allow suspicious individuals in their neighborhoods.

A security force member said the operation lasted until midnight. A cache of explosive materials and suicide vests were seized from the hideout. He said the terrorist cell was involved in the destruction of power pylons in Shakar Dara.

Taliban have recently conducted several raids on ISIS hideouts across the country. Earlier, security officials said that several Daesh sanctuaries were destroyed in southern Kandahar province.
