Kabul: Local media reported that two children were killed and two others were injured following an explosion in the house of a cleric in Ismailkhel and Mandozi districts of Khost province in eastern Afghansistan.
Police spoksman in Khost, Mostaghfir Garbaz, said that the explosion took place this morning in the “Bahram Khel” area in a house belonging to a man named Mohammad Farooq. It is said that this man was the Imam of a mosque.
According to Garbaz, two people were killed and two other were injured in this explosion.
He said that the nature of the explosion is not clear and investigations are underway to clarify the matter.
At the same time, it is claimed that Mohammad Farooq is one of the immigrants from Waziristan and that his house was targeted by an airstrike. According to unconfirmed reports, Farooq himself and his wife were also injured in this attack.
No further details have been released.
