ED: Wrong bloods—false or true

There is no leaf of doubt that the brave soldiers of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), being a strongest protector of our motherland have been chasing state sponsored terrorism across the country, and rendering highest number of sacrifices. It must be noticed that the Afghan security forces are fighting terrorism, not only for prevailing peace, security, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan, but on behalf of the whole humanity around the globe. This is also recognized by the US top military commander Gen. Nicholson. Noting the fact that Afghan security forces are in battlefield to safeguard the world, they deserve to be called as pride to the entire world because terrorism is threat to the region and beyond. In that case, they must be further strengthened in all area. But the annoying news has surfaced after an American probe agency reported regarding wrong bloods that have been given to the injured security personnel, jeopardizing their lives. The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) in a report has revealed that a large number of the wounded Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel lose their precious lives due to wrong blood injection, as they were recruited without their blood being tested or their blood groups have been typed wrongly. According to the report, in 2017, at least 15, 400 new personnel were recruited in the ANA without screening their blood and 77,178 personnel out of 171, 510 are recorded in the system without test of their blood type. Though, the SIGAR report is being rejected by the Defense Ministry, but the issue must be taken seriously. “It is impossible to send our soldiers to their departments without determining their blood type, as the country is in war and this is very much necessary,” Defense Ministry Spokesman Dawlat Waziri said. However, departmental inquiry into the report must be conducted to know where the fault line is. If the SIGAR report is correct, then the concerned channels within the Defense Ministry must be held accountable and register cases against them to provide justice to the holy souls of our soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the land and people of the country and humanity around the world. In case, the SIGAR report is exaggerated based on inaccurate information, then it must be triggered into the court of justice, because, it hurt every Afghan and demoralizes our soldiers and the country’s security institutions. The SIGAR reports should be a part of the reconstruction, not destruction. This is shocking report. The President Ashraf Ghani, the Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and the National Security Adviser Haneef Atmar should immediately launch a comprehensive probe into the matter and held accountable the responsible one, whether it is within the Defense Ministry or the SIGAR.
