Certainly, women are the integral part of our society and the world. Today’s development in the world could not be happened sans women’s huge participation and tireless efforts. No nation can rise to the height of glory unless women stand side by side with meal collages. We need Afghan women and girls to come up to the fore and take immense part in building and rebuilding of their motherland ‘Afghanistan’. In the past, especially during the darkest period of the Taliban insurgents, women and girls were worst victim of their evil custom that even prevented girls from going to schools and women to workplaces. This trend is a crime against humanity. This is against every norm across the globe to shut up women within the four walls of the houses as prisoners. The Taliban insurgents besides calming to be adherent of Islami they acted against all Islamic teachings. The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) strongly emphasized on education by saying, “It is the prime duty of men and women to acquire education. But the Taliban militants banned girls from their basic and Islamic rights. Islami is a comprehensive religion that gives women a great importance, but the Taliban insurgents neglected the real soul of Islam that gives women equality in every sphere of life. Phenomenal changes have taken place across the world in recent years, but the status and fate of women has not changed much. Though we have brave women in different offices, even one of Presidential Palace Spokesperson is woman. Moreover, in our parliament we also have female lawmakers as well as in security institutions—proud of policewomen, female army members and female National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives. We, the Afghan masses are proud of you all (Afghan Women) from civil advocates to military establishment and to all other areas. However, the very annoying news has been surfaced and has been told by President Ashraf Ghani himself that anti-women culture still dominates government institutions. “Our governance culture is still anti-women, you should not consider Afghan women as the second gender, because the Afghan women has a first-class personality,” Ghani said this at the 5th Afghan Symposium in Kabul. Like we can’t eliminate diseases without drugs, like that we can’t fight social taboos against women by statement only. President Ghani has to adopt serious measure to end every obstacle ahead of women. It is a fact that women have potentiality to play a multidimensional role from societal to organizational, yet they have been neglected. This style must be ended and there is no doubt over competence of the leaders of the National Unity Government in this regard. It is worth mentioning that our country’s backwardness can directly be attributed to the denied role of women in our country’s development.
