KABUL: Taliban militants whipped a teenage son of a former member of security forces in northern Faryab province, an official said on Monday.
Provincial police spokesman, Karim Youresh said Taliban lashed the 12-year old boy Koh-e-Seyad area of Shirin Tagab district of the province.
The boy is identified as Jan Agha whose father had previously served as member of the security forces.
Youresh said that the security forces shifted to Maimana city of the province following capturing of Shirin Taqab district by Taliban.
He said Taliban has beaten the child mercilessly.
However, Taliban spokespersons rejected the news and said the boy was beaten by his uncle as result of family dispute and the man behind the crime is detained by the Taliban fighters.
Faryab is insecure province in the north, where Taliban are strongly active in many parts of the province, this comes as Taliban make all-out efforts to harm people after capturing districts, earlier Taliban militants dragged people out of their homes in Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province who commended the security forces in the fight against Taliban and gunned them down.
