AT-KABUL: The third death anniversary of former vice president, Qasim Fahim was commemorated on Wednesday in Kabul. In a ceremony held in the Loya Jirga tent in Kabul, chief executive Abdullah Abdullah, ex-president Hamid Karzai and other high ranking officials and Jihadi figures attended. “Marshal Fahim was a companionate servant for Afghanistan,” said Former President Hamid Karzai.
He said that late Fahim was a patriot person, who always had supported peace process.
Marshal Fahim was a great supporter of national unity and always he had lived with his family together inside Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of National Unity Government Abdullah Abdullah said that commemoration from 3rd anniversary of late Marshal Fahim is an experience from the past transferring to current generation.
He said that Marshal was a great Jihad strongholds’comrade.
Marshal Fahim had remained committed to this country and nation up to the end of his life.
Hinting to enemies attack, CEO urged people to keep unity in order to cope with the current challenges across the country.
Fahim was a politician in Afghanistan who served as vice president from June 2002 until December 2004 and from November 2009 until his death. Between September 2001 and December 2004, he also served as Defense Minister under the Afghan Transitional Administration.
Fahim also served as a great military commander of during Jihad against Soviet Union raid in Afghanistan.
