FAO reconstructs 79 irrigation projects in Afghanistan

AT

Kabul: The representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Afghanistan stated that it is reconstructing 79 irrigation projects in Afghanistan to reduce the effects of drought in this country.

This organization wrote on Twitter that their actions are aimed at improving people’s access to water resources and creating climate resilience, and also for creating short-term employment for rural communities.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Afghanistan said that successive droughts in Afghanistan have had a negative impact on the country’s food security.

This organization stated that the reduction of international aid and the suspension of many economic projects have faced many problems for Afghan farmers.
