Five killed in Herat blast

AT-KABUL: At least five people killed and nine others injured in Shindand district of western Herat province on Thursday afternoon, said officials

“Explosive devices plant at the roadside went off in Shindand district of Herat province today at around 12:20 pm, killing five people including two policemen and wounding nine other mostly civilians,” said Herat Governor’s Spokesman Jailani Farhad.

Injured people were shifted to hospital. Police have started investigation to arrest the culprits.

Nearby shops and a mosque was also partly destroyed in the blast. No armed group has claimed responsibility.
