Four Nangarhar-based ISIS commanders relinquish violence

AT-KABUL: Four prominent ISIS commanders joined the government in eastern Nangarhar province, said the National Directorate of Security (NDS).

The NDS in a press statement issued on Tuesday said that four commanders of the ISIS, also known as Daesh, joined the government in Kot district of the province. The Daesh commanders also submitted their weapons to Afghan security forces.

“Shadow district chief of Daesh for Kot district Qari Rafiq known as Qari Yaser, shadow security chief of the group for the district Mehrabuddin known as Khalid, Qari Esrar shadow mayor for the district and Noor-ul-Haq known as Mula Wardak a commander of the terrorist group laid down their arms,” the statement added.

In the meantime, the provincial NDS chief said that security forces have defeated Daesh militants in Shinwari and Achin districts of the province.
