Four narcotics caches destroyed in Paktia

AT News Report-KABUL: The Counter Narcotics Cell has destroyed four caches of drugs in southern Paktia province following anti-drug fight across the country, security official said Saturday.

Afghan Counter-Narcotics Special Operation Police with air support from the Afghan Air Forces lunched special operation in Gul Ghondi village, Zazai Aryoub district in eastern Paktia province, as a result four drug caches containing 32380kg of hashish and 2920kg of bang seed were destroyed, the ministry of interior said in a statement.

Moreover, among drugs and materials, some amount of military equipment and ammunition were also seized. The ministry also informed of arresting two suspects related to drug-smuggling crime.

On the other hand, Counter Narcotics Police detained three drug traffickers carrying 62kg hashish and 4kg heroin during a crackdown in Roadat district of Nangarhar province.

They skillfully placed the drugs in three vehicles, which were identified and seized by the provincial police, the statement said.

The statement said Interior Ministry is committed to fight narcotics and that’s why the Afghan National Counter-Narcotics Police are gaining major success in regard with arresting smugglers.

The struggle to destroy heroin labs and send behind bars the drug-smugglers would continue until last breath of the crime.
