General Ghori killed in helicopter crash laid to rest

AT-KABUL: General Mohaiuddin Ghori was laid to rest in western Heart province on Thursday following his death in a helicopter crash two days ago.

President Ashraf Ghani, Minister of Defense, Minister of Interior, Head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) and many other officials attended the funeral of Gen Ghori in Herat.

President Ghani praised Ghori as a hero, who lost his life on the way to reinforce security and peace in the country. The president also directed the relevant authorities to provide best medical care to the wounded people of the chopper crash.

General Ghori was killed and ten others injured including provincial security head and provincial council head, after a military helicopter malfunctioned over Balamorghab district of the western Badghis province on Tuesday late afternoon.

Army corps commander for the western region, Gen. MohiuddinGhori, was on the way to assess security situation in Ghor province, when the helicopter malfunctioned.
