Ghani asks 16 new ministers to submit 100-day plan within three weeks

AT-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday attended the swearing-in ceremony of 16 new ministers who recently won votes of confidence from Wolesi Jirga—the Lower House of parliament.

High ranking officials including first Vice-President General Abdul Rashid Dostum, the second Vice-President Mohammad SarwarDanesh, the Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and his first deputy Mohammad Khan were present at the event which was held at the Presidential Palace.

The ministers during the oath-taking ceremony pledged to respect the Constitution and other laws of Afghanistan, safeguard the rights of citizens and independence, territorial integrity and the national unity of the people of Afghanistan, and, in all deeds consider the Almighty’s presence, and perform their entrusted duties honestly.

President Ghani congratulated the cabinet ministers and wished them success in serving the Afghan people.”You should prepare our cabinet’s first 100-day plan in upcoming three weeks,” he told the ministers. “May God help the cabinet, government and the nation succeed,” he said.

The ministers include Humayun Rasa Minister of Commerce and Industries, Farida Mohmand Minister of Higher Education,AsadullahHanifBalkhi Minister of Education,AsadullahZamir Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Abdul Bari Jahani Minister of Information and Culture, Ali Ahmad Osmani Minister of Energy and Water,SaadatMansoorNaderi Minister of Urban Development Affairs,NasreenOryakhil Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled,DilbarNazari Minister of Women’s Affairs,MohammadullahBatash Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Abdul SatarMurad Minister of Economy, Abdul Basir Anwar Minister of Justice, Abdul RazaqWahidi Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Mahmud Baligh Minister of Public Works,SalamatAzimi Minister of Counter-Narcotics, and Mohammad GulabMangal Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs.
