Ghani confers with leaders of political powers
AT-KABUL: As part of his continuous consultations with major political parties and jihadi leaders, President Ashraf Ghani conferred this week with pre-eminent political leaders and discussed peace process, ceasefire, upcoming elections and other issues of national importance.
These consultative meetings took place in the presidential palace, in which president Ghani met his first deputy Gen. Dostum, ex-president Hamid Karzai, Rasoul Sayyaf, Hazrat Sebghatullah Mojaddedi, Mohammad Yunus Qanooni, Ata Mohammad Noor, Mohammad Mohaqiq, Mohammad Khan, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Karim Khalili, Mohammad Almas Zahed, Mir Amanullah Gozar, Haji Iqbal Safi, Haji Din Mohammad, Abdul Hakim Munib, Mohammad Akbari, Seyed Hamed Gilani and a number of other political and jihadi leaders; who communicated their standpoints and propositions on ongoing status quo and political issues including peace and security, and ceasefire and elections.
President Ghani said that consultations vis-à-vis hot-button domestic matters were consequential for finding a trajectory to ongoing predicaments and that his meetings would continue for the purpose of using viewpoints and plans of senior political leaders.
