Gunmen kill former CEO of Farah

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Unknown gunmen shot dead the former chief executive officer (CEO) of western Farah province, said a local official.

Jawad Afghan, spokesman for Farah governor office, said that two unknown gunmen on a motorcycle killed the former CEO of the province, who was currently working as the executive head of Herat appeal court.

Afghan said that the Shah Muhammad Noor was on his way to home when he was attacked.  He added that the assailants have escaped the scene and police have a launched a search operation to arrest the culprits.

Despite working in high-ranking official positions, Shah Muhammad Noor was also prominent tribal elder.

No one has claimed the responsibility of attack so far.
