AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The fifth ‘Heart of Asia’ conference which was launched in Islamabad on Monday is vital for Afghanistan and as well as it will enable the regional countries to find better ways for overcoming unrest in parts of the region, official said.
“The Istanbul Process is a good opportunity for the country to build confidence among regional countries,” quoted by Radio Azadi, the head of strategic studies center of Foreign Ministry, Faramarz Tamana said.
He said the root cause for problems faced by regional countries is not war in Afghanistan; it has regional origin.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hekmat Khalil Karzai, represents Afghanistan in the meeting. According to Afghanistan’s embassy in Pakistan, the deputy foreign minister would co-chair the meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Aziz Ahmad Chaudhry.
The Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process was launched in 2011 in Turkey to bring Afghanistan’s neighboring and regional countries together at one platform for promotion of peace and security in the war-hit country.
