Kabul: Referring to the Doha meeting, Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan, said that among all the priorities, the countries agreed on “political dialogue among Afghan citizens as a key solution to all the challenges of Afghanistan”.
West emphasized on his Twitter page that this meeting was held by the United Nations not for recognition, but for the purpose of discussing approaches to Afghanistan.
The UN-led meeting took place behind closed doors between May 1-2 in Doha Qatar, chaired by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and special envoys of 25 countries and international organizations.
