ISI chief in Kabul for cementing ties with Taliban

KABUL: Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief FaizHameed on Saturday arrived in Kabul and spoke with Taliban regarding cementing Afghanistan-Pakistan ties.

This is the first high-level Pakistani official visits Kabul after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

According to Pajhwok News Agency, Pakistani media say he held detailed talks with Taliban leaders on future trade and security ties between the two countries.

His arrival in Kabul has been confirmed by Taliban spokesperson ZabihullahMujahid to BBC. He said the visit was based on Pakistan’s request after Taliban leadership in Qatar was contacted in this regard. Mujahid said rehabilitation of airports and resolving Afghan people’s movement on Durand Line were discussed during the visit
