Kabul: The ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the deadly explosion on Saturday in Kabul’s Pol-e-Sokhta neighborhood.

According to the initial report, at least 13 people were killed and 22 others were injured in the explosion in Kabul’s Pole Shokhta area on Saturday evening.

Khaled Zadran, the spokesman of the police command of the interim government of the Taliban, said that the explosion was caused by a land mine planted in a vase at the middle of the road.

The Pol-e-Sokhta area of Kabul’s police district 6 was the site of the explosion, which happened at 03:30 local time, on Saturday. Witnesses on the site claimed that the explosion targeted the Shi’ite mourners for Muharram.

The ISIS was also responsible for the explosion in the Sar-e-Kariz area of western Kabul on Friday, which killed eight people and injured 18.
