AT-KABUL: The Afghanistan Cricket Board on Wednesday signed an agreement with the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan for title sponsorship rights of the upcoming nine-match series between Afghanistan and Ireland.
The series, consisting of three T20Is, five ODIs and one Test will commence from 21st February in Dehradun, will be played under the title of “Islamic Bank of Afghanistan Cup 2019”, the Cricket Board said in a statement sent to Afghanistan Times.
Chairman Azizullah who signed the agreement on behalf of ACB said: “We would like to thank the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan for becoming the title sponsor of the upcoming series against Ireland which is important for the National Team as they prepare for the ICC Cricket World Cup. I hope that the partnership between ACB and the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan is not limited to specific series but also extend to future events.”
Acting President and CEO of the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan Dr. Sharifullah Ibrahimi thanked the Afghanistan Cricket Board for awarding the title sponsorship rights of the upcoming series to the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan and hoped to continue working with ACB in future. He said: “I am pleased that the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan acquired title sponsorship rights and I am certain that this will bring joy and happiness to the people of Afghanistan as always.”
