Kabul ready to host second round of quadrilateral talks: MoFA

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmad Shekib Mustaghani, on Saturday said that Afghanistan is expecting positive outcome from the quadrilateral meeting held between representatives of Afghanistan, Pakistan, the United States and China.

Hinting to the commitment promised by the four countries in the quadrilateral meeting, Mustaghani said that positive outcomes from the talks are expected in the second round of meeting which is scheduled to be held in Kabul on January 18.

Kabul is ready to host the second round of the talks on Afghan peace process, he assured.

Quadrilateral meeting was held in Islamabad aimed at establishing a roadmap on resumption of Afghan-owned peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban.

The first round of peace between Afghan government and the Taliban stalled soon after the death report of Mullah Omar, the supreme leader of Taliban.
