Kabul suicide bombing leaves 12 dead
By Farhad Naibkhel-KABUL: Some 12 people, mostly staff of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MoRRD), were killed after a suicide attacker blew himself up in front of the ministry gate on Monday afternoon, said officials.
“A suicide attacker detonated his laden body explosives vest in front of entrance gate of MoRRD in PD 6 in Darulaman area at around 1:00pm,” told to Afghanistan Times Kabul police Spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai.
He said that 12 people were killed and over 20 others wounded mostly MoRRD employees.
Women are among killed and wounded people, he added.
The attack occurred at off time, while ministry employees were leaving office to home, he noted.
He said that the wounded people shifted to hospitals from the incident and inquiry started over the case
Meanwhile Ministry of Public Health Spokesman Wahidullah Majroh confirmed that that 12 killed and 31 wounded people shifted to hospitals from attack in front of MoRRD in Kabul
Suicide attack took place in a heavily guarded area, because Attorney General Office, President Ghani, and HIA leader house located close the incident place.
Based on reports Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack in Kabul.
Kabul city and Nangarhar were witness of attacks today, while recently the government of Afghanistan has offered an overture peace and truce to Taliban in order to galvanize grinding peace process in the country and pave a safe and stable ground for people across the country. The truce rendered by the government will commenced from 27th Ramadan till fifth of Eid. Similar Taliban reciprocate to the government ceasefire overture and they also proclaimed ceasefire from first to third days of Eid.
