AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday met with Chief of the Feroz Koh Foundation (Turquoise Mountain).
Head of the Feroz Koh Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture, Waheed Khalili and teachers of the institute were also present on the occasion.
Hamid Karzai commended the institute for creating exquisite pieces of arts.
He also thanked Britain’s Prince Charles for establishment of the institute, and termed its activities and achievements satisfactory.
Appreciating the institute which is a leading school and workshop for traditional arts, Karzai emphasized that the institute should stand on its own feet.
He appreciated the leadership and members of the institute for their tireless efforts for development and progress of the institute.
It is worth to mention that the institute was establishment ten years ago by Prince Charles and Hamid Karzai, where master craftsmen and artists train students—both men and women—in woodwork, ceramics, jewelry and gem-cutting, calligraphy and miniature painting.
Art objects of the institute have been displayed at the Smithsonian museum in Washington DC.
