Karzai Condemned Pakistan Attack on Afghan Soil

KABUL: The former president Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the Pakistani military attack on provinces of Khost and Kunar.The Pakistani military carried out airstrikes in Spiri district of Khost province.

Former President Karzai on Twitter condemned Pakistani forces’ attacks in Kunar & Khost in which dozens of civilians–including women & children–were killed & wounded. He called them a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty, a violation of intl norms & a crime against humanity.

The country’s border forces also targeted Shiltan District of Kunar with shelling.

The attack faced a widespread condemnation by the Islamic Emirate and other top Afghan politicians According to the witness, more than 40 people have suffered casualties in the attacksThe residents in Kunar confirmed the death of more than five civilians.

The airstrikes in Khost targeted the refugees, who migrated to Afghanistan a few years ago.

Following the attacks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Pakistan ambassador in Kabul, Mansoor Ahmad Khan.

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strongly condemns Pakistan’s attacks on refugees in Khost and Kunar,” said Zabiullah Mujahid, Islamic Emirate’s Spokesman, calling on the “Pakistani side not to test the patience of Afghans on such issues and not repeat the same mistake again otherwise it will have bad consequences.”
