KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai, strongly condemned Thursday’s “terrorist attack” in Kabul that targeted civilians celebrating the New Year.
“The attack in Kabul was aimed to prevent people from celebrating our traditions and customs, and to disrupt our peace,” Karzai said on Twitter.
“I call this attack the work of outsiders and condemn it in strongest words.”
At least six people were killed and more than 20 including women and children injured in explosions took place on the first day of the New Year in the west part of the city Police District 3, police and health officials said.
