AT-KABUL: Ex-President Hamid Karzai expressed his deep sorrow over the death and destruction caused by explosions in China’s port city of Tianjin.

Twin blasts at a warehouse in Tianjin left 54 people and wounded around 700 others.  According to reports volatile chemicals were stored in the warehouse. More than a dozen firefighters were among those killed in the blasts.

Hamid Karzai extended his condolences to the government, people of China and prayed for quick recovery of the wounded.
