AT-KABUL: The former President Hamid Karzai felicitated Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America.
“With respect to the will of the people of the US for change in political arena, the Afghan masses expected factual changes in the fight against terrorism in accordance with the will of the Afghan people,” the former President Hamid Karzai was quoted in a statement issued by his office.
He furthered: “The Afghan people are expecting focus on the fight against terrorism with provenance and its nest, and put a halt to the Afghan masses sacrifices.”
He added that it has been for years that the main desire of the Afghan people is to have an everlasting peace and stability and “we hope serious step to be taken in this regard”.
The former President wished Donald J. Trump the president-elect of the United States of America success in serving the people of America. He expressed hope that the people of America to have greater prosperity during Trump’s tenure as president.
