KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai congratulated the Afghan teachers on “Happy World Teachers’ Day”.
He hoped that the female teachers would be returning to their work and taking their precious role in serving the country.
“In addition to welcoming their (teachers) unstoppable efforts, I am hopeful that female teachers also return to their works and alongside their brothers continue teaching girls and boys, thus the ground would be paved for a developed country,” Karzai was quoted in a statement issued by the former president.
This comes as since the Islamic Emirate seized power in Afghanistan, the destiny of the female teachers have remained uncertain as the Islamic Emirate banned female teachers from going to work. Girls after grade are also so far banned from schools.
