KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai met with the Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, Wang Yu, discussing the bilateral relations between the two countries and the current situation of Afghanistan.
Karzai’s office said in a statement that the former president thanked China for its assistance to Afghanistan.
“Former President thanked China and welcomed (China) for providing educational opportunities for the Afghan youths,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the former president called for the provision of travel facilities to the Afghan youths who are studying in China, thus the students can continue their educations.
Karzai earlier held separate meetings with the Afghan students who were studying in India, Turkey, and Egypt.
