Karzai saddened over civilian casualties in Nangarhar
KABUL: Hamid Karzai, the former president was saddened to learn of civilian casualties in the Rodat district of the eastern province of Nangarhar.
In a statement released Wednesday, Karzai said: “With very regrets, I heard that once again a military operation caused civilian casualties in Rodat district of Nangarhar province including women and children. I condemn with the strongest terms military operations on the Afghans’ homes and villages launched under any title. I also express opposition to such irresponsible operations and ask for its immediate stop.”
He offered his condolences to the families of friends of the deceased, wishing paradise for them and quick recovery for the injured.
