Kabul: Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, expressed his regret and concern about the treatment of the Pakistani government towards the Afghan immigrants.
Mr. Karzai says in a tweet that based on reports, the Pakistani government has arrested nearly 1,100 Afghan migrants, including women and children, in the province of Sindh.
Mr. Karzai asked Pakistan to deal with migrants in accordance with international laws and human rights, and he also asked the United Nations and human rights organizations to work to provide better living conditions for Afghan migrants in Pakistan.
There are nearly 1,000 Afghan prisoners, including women and children, in the prison of Karachi, Pakistan. 313 of these prisoners have recently been arrested by the police for not having legal documents.
Furthermore, Afghans living in Karachi claim that despite having legal documents, the police arrest them and extort them.
