AT-KABUL: Ex-President Hamid Karzai strongly denounced recent suicide attack on Kabul Police Academy that led to killing of more than 25 cadets.
Hamid Karzai termed the perpetrators of the heinous act as enemies of peace, stability and development in Afghanistan. He said that the attack was in sharp contrast to Islamic instructions.
According to reports, a suicide attacker has struck near the Kabul Police Academy, killing at least 26 people including cadets, police officers, and civilians, and wounding 27 others.
Condemning the blast in the strongest possible terms, Karzai said that enemies by conducting such attacks are trying to undermine peace and development in Afghanistan. “The enemies should keep in mind that by launching such attack they cannot deter people from working for a stable and developed Afghanistan,” he added.
Karzai extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for quick recovery of the wounded.
