Karzai Welcomes Reopening of Public Universities

KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai welcomed the reopening of public universities in hot areas and termed it beneficial for a developed Afghanistan.

 “Former President calls on all students (girls and boys) that the brilliant future of the country relies on efforts of educated Afghan youths,” Karzai’s office said in a statement. “(Former President) also encourages the youths to study with great passion to serve their country.”

Earlier, the ministry of education announced that all public universities would be reopened for girls and boys students in hot areas on 2nd February.

According to the ministry, the public universities in cold areas would be reopened on February 26th.

The Islamic Emirate has yet to publicize its plan for girls’ participation in the universities.
