Key Daesh member killed, another detained in Nangarhar

KABUL: The IS-K or so called Daesh’s kangaroo court judge was killed and another key member was detained in an operation carried out by the operatives of the National Directorate of Security in eastern Nangarhar province.

Provincial Press Department in a statement said that Mohammad Nabi known as Ayoubi, who is in-charge of the Daesh suicide attack wings, was detained in Jalalabad, the provincial capital city.

“Amin, the judge of the Daesh group, who is also famous as Mavia, was killed,” the statement said. “The security forces seized an AK-47 rifle from him.”  

No civilians or security forces suffered any casualties during the operation.

Previously, the ministry of defense had said that Daesh sanctuaries were eliminated in Nangarhar, but some members of the groups are active in eastern Kunar province.

According to the ministry, at least 36 Daesh fighters were surrendered to the Afghan security forces in Kunar.
