Killing of IS leader, ‘a step towards stability’: Abdullah
AT-KABUL: The killing of the Islamic State leader in Afghanistan is a step closer towards stability and security improvement, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said on Sunday during a cabinet session.
Pointing to killing of Daesh leader Saad Erhabi during airstrike on Saturday night in Nangarhar, CEO continued that the killed leader was responsible for all subversive and terrorist crimes and incidents every hook and corny across the country.
He said that Afghan forces are in front line of combat against Daesh fighters and never neglected in the aspect at any parts of the country.
Hinting to peace process and ceasefire, CEO said that based Afghan people demand the NUG has announced conditional ceasefire, but the Taliban did not reciprocate.
While insisting over peace process under leading of Afghan government, CEO said that Afghan government will warmly welcome sincere cooperation of each country in peace process.
It is pertained to mention that National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Sunday said that Daesh Amir (leader) for Afghanistan Saad Erhabi was killed during airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province Saturday night.
NDS in a statement said that based on NDS information airstrike was conducted at around 10:05 last night in Jangal Keli village of Khogianai district in Nangarhar , which as result Saad Erhabi Daesh Leader for Afghanistan along with ten other Daesh loyalists were killed.
