Kunar revenue up by 30pc

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Officials at the revenue department in eastern Kunar province on Sunday said that they have collected 30 percent more revenue comparing to the last year.

According to them they have collected more revenue associating to the target given by the Ministry of Finance.

The ministry’s target was Afs159 million in revenue collection in 2015 while Afs60 million more were collected than the target which shows 30 percent increase, an official told Pajhwok Afghan News.

They collected Afs229.6 million revenue in total and most of the returns income come from the custom department, official said.

This come at a time when officials in Khost province also informed the media regarding 19.26 percent increase in provincial revenue this year.

They collected more than Afs908.26 million in revenues comparing to last year.

Khost governor, Hukam Khan Habibi, said the other day that provincial revenue would increase by Afs700 to 900 million if trucks were allowed to carry transit goods via Ghulam Khan Port.

The port is the third most important crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan and it has been remained closed for more than one year.
