Lawmakers to investigate US aerial bombing on Nangarhar

AT News Report-KABUL: Members of the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House) of Parliament on Saturday decided to assign a mixed parliamentarian and government officials delegation to visit and observe the outcome of the US biggest bomb attack in Nangarhar.

“A joint delegation from Parliament and government must be formed and visit the area and center of Daesh terrorist, which was targeted by US forces with the biggest bomb in Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province,” said Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi.

He said that the delegation must assess effect and side effects of the airstrike and the casualties in the site.

He insisted that parliamentarian must have judgment after return of delegation at the light of reports, adding that “early discussion regarding the attack is not at the interest of Wolesi Jirga.

We are representatives of those Afghans, who are daily sacrifices of terrorism every hook across the country, he added.

Another Lawmaker Esmatullah Shinwari said that parliament must send a delegation to Achin in order to visit closely the area and share outcome of the attack with people.

He said that although there is report that no civilian harmed in the incident, but there is financial loses.

US forces Afghanistan conducted an airstrike against ISIS-K complex in Achin district Nangarhar province on Thursday and targeted Daesh hideout by GBU43 the biggest un-nuclear bomb.

According to report at least 94 Daesh fighter including four commander have been killed in airstrike in Achin district on Thursday evening.

Hamza Abobaker, Hamid, Mohammad Abrani and Hafiz Saeed’s brother are the commanders who have been killed during attack as well.
