M5.4 earthquake jolts northeastern Afghanistan

Kabul: A magnitude-5.4 earthquake jolted Badakhshan Province in northeastern Afghanistan on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

US Seismological Center measured the strength of this earthquake at 5.4 degrees on the Richter scale.

The depth of this earthquake was 103 km from the ground in Jerem district of Badakhshan.

Faizabad city and Ashkashim district of Badakhshan, Afghanistan, and parts of Badakhshan, Tajikistan have also been shaken.

There are no reports of possible damages in this incident.
