AT News Report-KABUL: A man has been arrested in connection with the abduction and killing of a child in eastern Nangarhar province. Provincial officials said the Afghan intelligence operatives arrested the suspect in the vicinity of the 4th police district in Jalalabad city.
The provincial government media office said in a statement that the perpetrator, Jalil, had kidnapped and murdered a child last year. He was reported to be a member of an abduction ring led by the notorious Khan Zaman. Since then, ten of his accomplices have been arrested. Naqibullah was kidnapped and then murdered although the kidnappers had their ransom for his release.
After the murder, Jalilescaped and have been hiding for the past year. Jalil has confessed that he kept Naqib in his custody for a period of at least four months and subsequently murdered the child after his comrades received the money from the father of the victim.
