KABUL: Father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law were killed and three other family members were wounded after being stabbed by son-in-law in northern Baghlan province, official confirmed on Tuesday.
Wife and two sons of the slayer are among those wounded, said Provincial Police Spokesman Ahmad Jawid Basharat.
The family tragedy occurred on Tuesday early morning in Dewar-e-Madan area of Pul-e-Khomri, the provincial capital city of the province. Mr. Basharat said that the killer (son-in-law) has been arrested.
Head of Provincial Health Department, Mohibullah Mohib said the “wounded are under medical treatment and they are out of danger.”
The motivation and reason behind such an act of family violence is yet to known.
Head of Provincial Women Directorate, Khadija Yaqeen had called the catastrophe as the most appalling that can’t rule out involvement of more people. “Not only the son-in-law, but maybe many more people to be detained in connection, evaluating the nature of the incident,” she added.
She called on the security agencies to seriously probe the stabbing case.
