Militant leader family of 13 killed, injured in own blast
AT-KABUL: A Taliban commander along with two of his family members was killed on Sunday and eleven others of his kin were wounded after their own explosives detonated in southern Helmand province.
The explosion happened on Sunday afternoon inside the house of a Taliban commander touted as‘Baran’in Shamal area in the vicinity of Garamser district, the provincial government media office said in a statement.
The commander was engaged in making IEDs, which went off and resulted at his killing along two other family members, added statement.
Statement said that 11 other family member of the commander including seven children and four women were wounded in the incident.
Taliban and other insurgents groups often use IED and laying mine to target the government and foreign forces in different parts of the country, but mostly civilians harm from mine and IEDs blast.
