KABUL: Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Monday announced that it will distribute donating cash to families of martyred army soldiers during holy month of Ramadan.
Over 23,000 martyred Security Forces’ families would be covered through this charitable program, where each family will be granted with 1000Afs cash as a gesture of the holy month of Ramadan, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, Acting Minister Assadullah Khalid said the donation will be granted to the martyred soldiers’ families through bank accounts.
Likewise, former defense ministers had invited about 25 members of the martyred soldiers from across the country to Iftar (break fasting), and have distributed foods to more than 200 families during Ramadan.
While appreciating the charitable acts by former defense ministers, Mr. Khalid called such aids insufficient to honor of the martyred soldiers, much more needed.
Khalid committed he would offer tremendous efforts in regards of disable and martyred Security Forces rights.
His remarks come as recently President Ashraf Ghani put the toll of the martyred Afghan National Security and Defense Forces over 45,000 since he assumed office in 2014.
