Muslim World League oppose the ban on Afghan women

Kabul: The Muslim World League’s secretary general, Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, said the top Islamic scholars and universities of fiqh (jurisprudence) oppose the decision of the current Afghan government to ban women from working and getting an education in Afghanistan.

Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Eisa, Secretary General of Muslim World League, said that Muslim women have played prominent roles throughout Islam’s history. There are women from Islamic countries who work at the UN, and they teach at all levels of education.

Al-Eisa added that Fiqh (Jurisprudence) universities and senior scholars of the Islamic world and different sects are against this decision of the Taliban.

In response to the secretary general of the Muslim World League, the Taliban said that their decisions are made in accordance with Islamic Sharia.

Zabihullah Mujahid said that we are doing our best to make progress in this field, and what is possible and acceptable in our society, we will certainly do our best in that direction.

It has been nearly two weeks since the UN female employees in Nangarhar have been banned from going to their duties, and this decision of the caretaker government has met with many reactions.
