Kabul: The Central Bank of Afghanistan (DAB) announced the printing of new Afghani banknotes and added that this money will be transferred to Afghanistan soon.
This bank has indicated in an announcement that tangible progress has been made in the field of printing new Afghani banknotes and the process of transferring this money to Afghanistan will begin soon.
Previously, Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan has said that soon the new banknotes that were recently printed will enter the markets of Afghanistan and will replace the old money.
He also said about Afghanistan’s foreign exchange reserves that the first meeting among the members of the Afghanistan trust fund is expected to be held next month.
Recently, the US Department of Finance has announced that it will transfer 3.5 billion dollars from the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan to a trust fund in Switzerland so that it is out of the reach of the Taliban and used to stabilize the Afghan economy.
The increase of old banknotes in Afghanistan has become an important problem for the people and money changers of this country.
The money changers of Herat province closed their activities in protest against the non-organization of old banknotes and demanded the Taliban to investigate this important problem.
At the same time as the criticism of the increase of old money, the Central Bank of Taliban has published the specifications of unusable money in the Afghan market.
The central bank announced in an announcement that except for banknotes whose appearance has completely vanished or parts of them have been lost due to unforeseen events, other currencies are considered safe and can be used in transactions.
