New maternity hospital to be established in Kabul
AT-KABUL: The health ministry in joint venture with Bayat Foundation on Monday laid foundation stone of a maternity hospital within Indira Ghandi Children’s Hospital compound in Kabul.
According to a press statement, the 100-bed maternity hospital will be built in four floors and will have many facilities including a blood bank, eye and ear treatment segment as well as radiography division and clinic for cancer research.
Minister of health told the ceremony on the occasion on Monday that the construction of the maternity hospital will help curtail maternal and infant mortalities in the country.
Minister Ferozudin Feroz praised Bayat foundation the grand initiative and said that the foundation had helped the health sector through construction of clinics and providing health equipment.
First Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Khan, Health Minister Ferozudin Feroz and Ehsanullah Bayat attended a ceremony to lay the foundation stone of the maternity hospital.
This hospital will be built with high standards as well as equipped with modern equipments, which will have the capacity to treat maternity sickness in a better situation, he added.
This hospital has a specialty of treating children and mother in the same compound, which was not available before, he noted.
Minister also insisted that the health ministry struggle to pave the ground for treatment of serious disease and avoid patients traveling to abroad.
