AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Wednesday that most dangerous kidnapping gang busted in the western province of Herat.
In a press statement, the NDS said that its operatives managed to arrest a group of 16 kidnappers through an operation in the province.
The gang was led by Ghulam Farooq and was responsible for kidnapping innocent people in the past eight months, the statement added.
It said that the gangsters in the primary investigation confessed that they had kidnapped 10 people in the past eight months and released them after taking ransom from their families.
They had killed three of their captives, according to the statement.
The gang had possessed eight hideouts in different parts of Herat province.
By arresting the gang, kidnapping would decrease significantly in Herat province, the statement noted.
