AT-KABUL: A terrorist linked with the Pakistan’s military was arrested by Afghan forces as he was attempting to flee to Pakistan in eastern Laghman province, Ministry of Interior said Tuesday.
It added that the terrorist was arrested by the counter-terrorism operatives after sustaining injuries during a gun battle in Alingar distract.
“Shah Mohmood led by Samilluah in Alingar distract was involved in different subversive activities kidnappings, roadside bombings and suicide attacks,” the statement said.
It noted that the terrorist was from Lahore, Pakistan and was linked to the Pakistani military.
This comes as the Afghan officials earlier said dozens of foreign insurgents including the Pakistani and Arab militants are fighting alongside the militants in the country.
Separately Seven drug smugglers have been arrested in different operations conducted by Interior Counter Narcotics across the country, ministry of interior said Tuesday in a statement.
Statement added that the operations were conducted in different area of Kabul, Herat and Nangarhar provinces as a result seven people were arrested in connection with the drugs, along with 40 Kilogram narcotics.
Statement highlighted that the amount of narcotics had embedded skill-fully in handheld vacuum and the smugglers want to transfer to Nimroz and neighboring countries.
