AT-KABUL: The Presidential Palace (Arg) on Friday said that the Afghan government would neither allow any foreign country in any circumstances to carry out operations on Afghan soil, nor the Afghan security forces have conducted any joint operation with Pakistan’s security forces inside Afghanistan.
The Presidential Palace in a statement termed the report as baseless, and said that only the Afghan security forces have the right to carry out operations on Afghan coil. “The national security forces have not conducted any joint operation with Pakistani military,” the statement added.
The statement also said that Afghans have full confidence on their brave and professional security forces to meet all challenges effectively and defend the country in case of any threat by enemies of Afghanistan.
It comes as earlier, a number of Pakistani media outlets quoted the Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan as saying that Pakistan in collaboration with NATO and Afghan forces conducted joint operations in Afghanistan.
The statement sparked political anger in Afghanistan but Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the reports are unfounded.
According to a statement by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, has referred to the enhanced cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the common war on terror.
