Police commander killed in Parwan

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Commander of a police check-post was killed along with his bodyguard in insurgents attack.

The district police chief for Bagram, Muhammad Masom Farzai, told a local news agency that commander of the national police post, Waliullah, was killed along with his bodyguard when insurgents attacked the vehicle he was traveling in, the other day.

He was commander of the security post in Qalanderkhel area of the district.

Waliullah’s bodyguard succumbed to injuries on the spot in Naib Khilo area while the commander himself lost his life on Wednesday morning in a hospital.

Insecurity is mounting in Parwan province as last week a member of the provincial council, Muhammad Mujeeb Shoresh, escaped a bomb blast in Bagram’s Ghulam Ali Bazaar. In the blast a child was injured.

Shoresh told Pajhwok on Wednesday, “We have to worry because the security situation is getting worse day by day in Bagram. A few days ago, a Jihadi commander, Wasim, was assassinated. I was also attacked. The government shall ramp up efforts to improve law and order situation.”

Meanwhile, in another incident a person lost his life in a traffic accident in Jabal Siraj district.

Eshaq Nasimi, a doctor at the local hospital, identified the killed person as Minara who was working as nurse in the district.

He said that Minara was riding a motorcycle when a Corolla model car hit him in Pushta-e-Surkh area.
