Raids leave a dozen militants dead

AT-KABUL: Some 16 Taliban militants have been killed and eleven more injured during intelligence operations in different provinces, said officials.

National Directorate of Security said on Monday that Intelligence operatives carried out clearance operation in Kabul, Kunduz, Faryab, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Logar, Badghis, Herat, Zabul and Herat provinces in the past 24 hours, said a statement sent to Afghanistan Times by NDS.

Statement said that 16 armed insurgents were killed and 11 others were wounded during operations.

NDS forces also arrested seven militants linked to Haqqani Terrorist Network and handed over them to related judicial organs for further inquiry, added statement.
