KABUL: A government official says that the representatives of Afghan refugees in the neighboring countries of Iran and Pakistan would participate in the Consultative Loya Jirga slated in April to discuss ways of peace.

Umer Daudzai, head of the High Peace Council secretariat, said Sunday that all preparations for the Jirga were adopted, assuring that the Jirga would be called on time.

According to Daudzai, 2,500 people from 34 provinces as well as representatives of refugees in Iran and Pakistan would explain their viewpoints in the grand assembly.

He reported about his recent visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran to the members of the High Peace Council, saying there has been a positive change in the region regarding peace process in Afghanistan and regional countries have reached coordination.
